Today

Sometimes packing up to leave a place you're excited about leaving reminds you of packing up to leave a place you were sad and terrified to leave.

So if you're looking for us, we're packing. Again. We're hitting the necessary school subjects, which today means math, writing, history, and spelling. We're cleaning because of all the seven weeks we've been here Jim decided that today would be a great time to invite a co-worker over for dinner. We're wiping tears when the emotions of moving again overwhelm. We're reading books on the couch and making monster cookies for dessert and listening to Isaac perform concerts on his new guitar.

We're here. But we're thinking of there. The there we drove away from and the there that waits for us in Colorado.

  1. Oh goodness gracious. You're all learning some big lessons. Hold on, there's gotta be a reason!

    1. Yes. We learn and discuss our lessons almost daily. It's kind of like dealing with grief while raising kids. I have to be really aware of how I deal with my sadness so it doesn't snowball into their sadness, but I also have to allow us to feel our sadness. Thanks for your kind words.

    1. Thank you. The getting there is turning out to be a little more stressful and difficult than we expected.

  3. I know there are people both in the Minnesota "There" and in the Colorado "there" you and praying for you.

    1. Thanks. I know that, too. In our talks today we came to the conclusion that we're feeling all of the emotions.
